Rajasthan’s Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota and Ajmer will have 3D city models.

Jaipur. Geographic Information System (GIS) based 3D city models will be developed for the cities of Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota and Ajmer in Rajasthan. The state government has given its approval.

According to an official statement, GIS-based 3D city models of Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota and Ajmer cities will be developed by the state government for planning and managing the development of cities. The statement said that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has launched these four projects. A financial proposal of Rs 106.46 crore has been approved for the implementation of GIS based 3D City and Rajdhara Satellite Imagery Repository projects in cities.

According to the statement, with this, land use will be proposed in the master plan of the cities, new roads, flyovers, construction and expansion of new colonies, drainage plans will be implemented, large-scale infrastructure development, transport planning, land planning. There will be ease in effective assessment and planning of urban planning etc.

According to the statement, the developed 3D model will also enable a virtual tour of the city through Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality. Apart from this, satellite imagery of different time periods of Rajasthan will be displayed on the Rajdhara platform, the statement said. Repository’ will also be installed. This will facilitate analysis of changes in reservoirs/water sources and forest areas, crop yield estimation, development and expansion of cities etc. as per the requirements of various departments.

According to the statement, under another decision, to promote ‘eco-tourism’ in the state, Luv-Kush gardens will be developed in all the districts, for which Rs 66 crore has been approved. Models related to forests and wildlife will be established in these gardens, through which children will be able to learn about environment and wildlife conservation. According to the statement, eco-trail paths will be constructed in Luv-Kush garden and space will be made for exhibition. The purpose of these gardens is to educate and aware the common people about environmental protection.
