For his part, Malik Agar, who was recently appointed vice-president of the Sovereignty Council in Sudan, said that he “will mobilize all his capacities to work for a permanent ceasefire and end the war in a lasting way”. .

In a statement released on Saturday, Aqar announced his acceptance of the new position, and added: “Our duty today is to work to stop this war, and to find logical solutions across the negotiating table to stop it. and limit its effects and mitigate its effects”. impact on our beloved people.”

In his statement, he also sent two messages to the two parties to the conflict in Sudan, the army and the Rapid Support Forces, saying: “The armed forces must realize that peace will only be possible through dialogue, and the rapid support must realize that a professional army is the way to achieve stability in Sudan. »
