Zelenskyy said that Artyomovsk was not under the control of the Russian Federation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Artemivsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut) is not under Russian control. He said so at a press conference in Hiroshima on the sidelines of the G7 summit.

According to the President of Ukraine, for the time being the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces remain in Artemivsk.

“Now they are doing very important work. Today they are in Bakhmut. At what times – will not share. But this suggests that Bakhmut is not currently surrounded by the Russian Federation. There can only be two or three interpretations of this,” Zelenskyy said.

Earlier, Zelenskyy admitted that Kyiv had lost control of Artemivsk. He told reporters about it during a meeting with US President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan.

Later, the Ukrainian President’s press secretary, Sergei Nikiforov, said that Zelenskyy had been misunderstood. He pointed out that the question was: “Mr. President, is Bakhmut still in the hands of Ukraine?” Russia claims to have captured Bakhmut.” The Ukrainian leader replied: “I don’t think so.”

The liberation of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) by the Russian military is an important step in the conflict in Ukraine. However, the West will not stop supplying arms to Kyiv after the failures of the Ukrainian armed forces, because the goal is the exhaustion of Russia, despite the victims of the Ukrainians. Military expert Viktor Litovkin had already told Paragraph about it.
