Poland responded to Volodin’s words about returning funds, saying they won’t pay

October 2, 2025

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki appealed to State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin’s request for Poland to compensate the Russian Federation for funds spent by the USSR to restore the republic after the end of World War II as a typical propaganda ploy.

“Russia is responsible for the huge material destruction in Poland,” he told Poland Posts.

He noted that Russia’s demand for sanctions is absurd. Also, Morawiecki noted that Russia has to pay huge compensation to Ukraine due to the special military operation.

Volodin had previously said that Poland should be prohibited from taking advantage of Russia by stopping the passage of its trucks through Russian territory. He noted that such measures are necessary, because Poland betrayed historical memory, forgetting that its liberation from fascist invaders cost the people of the USSR dearly.
