Ahmed told Sky News Arabia that the only possible solution to stop the suffering of the people is to stop the war immediately, explaining, “The suffering will not end if the war does not stop.”

With the exacerbation of the human suffering experienced by the inhabitants of Khartoum and other cities of the country, and the continuous increase in the number of civilian victims, which has reached more than 5,000 dead and injured, the demands are increasing to stop the war.

Recently, journalists, jurists and leaders of international community organizations have launched a number of initiatives calling for an end to the fighting, amid a large popular response.

However, multiple truces agreed by the two sides to Sudan’s conflict, the military and the Rapid Support Forces, are soon broken amid accusations from both sides of violating them.

Journalist Sabah Muhammad al-Hassan, who launched an initiative to stop the fighting called “White Flags”, told Sky News Arabia that the increase in human and material losses and the exacerbation of human suffering require the dissemination of a culture of peace, the rejection of war by peaceful means. means, opposing the idea of ​​arming citizens, and “sending a voice of peace to the world.” From a country where everything is on fire.”

She said the initiative she started is based on involving people in calling for an end to the war by raising white flags on the roofs of houses and organizing small processions and vigils in safe cities.

In recent days, the hashtag “terre d’armes” has topped Sudanese’s tweets on social media platforms.

Many Sudanese expressed support for initiatives calling for an end to the war and rejection of recent calls for citizens to arm.

Activist Muhammad Al-Fateh Hadrat believed that the shortest way to spare Sudanese blood was to achieve peace as soon as possible.

In the same context, journalist Safaa Al-Fahal saw that the purpose of the call to arm citizens is to sow chaos and expand the area of ​​combat.

Others expressed great fears of worsening economic repercussions, while specialists estimated the direct and indirect losses suffered by the Sudanese economy, particularly in the industrial and banking sectors, at more than 6 billion dollars. so far.

The fighting caused huge material losses amid widespread looting and chaos, which affected a number of neighborhoods and markets in the capital, including Khartoum, Omdurman and Khartoum North.
