The ex-president proclaims his innocence.

Passions are running high in the United States – American businessman, ex-President Donald Trump is charged again and he can no longer remain silent, calling all court stories associated with him a political persecution. And, at the same time, a distraction from another high-profile story related to current US President Joe Biden’s family and Ukraine.

What happened

At a new hearing in Miami, Trump was charged with possession of classified documents and obstruction of justice. More than 30 counts in total, including “intentional withholding of national defense information”, “conspiracy to obstruct justice”, “corrupt concealment of a document or record”, “concealment of a document during a federal investigation” and others.

According to preliminary estimates, if proven guilty, Trump could face around 100 years in prison.

What Trump Says

The former American president himself claims his innocence. He denied all charges. He accused the current administration and Joe Biden of abuse of power, and the cases against him of political persecution and attempted interference in the upcoming 2024 US election.

“Today we witnessed the most vicious and heinous abuse of power in the history of our country,” Trump said.

“It is very sad to see how a corrupt incumbent, in the middle of a presidential election in which he is losing very badly, has arrested his main political opponent on false and fabricated charges,” the politician said.

Well, on top of that, Trump recalled that Biden also has secret documents and his family is linked to Ukraine. In particular, according to Trump and his supporters, during the time when Biden’s son worked for the Ukrainian company Burisma, Joe Biden himself received bribes from this company.

“They want to distract from real espionage and real crime by using President Trump. Let’s come to an agreement and bring charges against him so that no one talks about a $5 million bribe,” the businessman said.

In November 2019, Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani said he had incriminating evidence about the Joe Biden family. According to him, this refers to “documents on the Biden family, recounting about four decades of money-making in office.”

What the White House says

The US administration denies Biden’s involvement in any persecution of Trump. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said during the briefing that Biden was “in no way” involved in the ex-president’s accusations.

“He was not involved in this process,” the woman said.

Earlier, Congresswoman Nancy Mays told Fox News that President Joe Biden wants to impose a “paper death sentence” on former President Donald Trump. She recalled a strange coincidence: the charges against Trump were made when they started talking about Biden’s own business.

“Whenever the Oversight Committee has evidence of corruption, kickbacks, money laundering in the Biden family, they bring charges against Donald Trump,” Mays said.

It is believed that such a confrontation between Trump and Biden could lead to a civil war in the United States. The fact is that Trump is actually America’s most popular politician and his arrest will certainly lead to unrest, but incumbent President Biden is already considered guilty.

According to political scientist Sergei Markov, the potential for civil war is growing in the United States for a number of reasons. These are accusations against Trump for farcical reasons, and the electoral fraud and the state of insanity of the current head of state, who confuses words and gets lost in space, as well as the venality of the media, the crisis of the party system.

“The probability of a civil war is not yet 50%, but it has increased significantly in recent years. Thousands of articles have been published about the possibility of a civil war in the United States over the past 5 years,” Markov notes.

Earlier, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said when the conflict in Ukraine will end.
