Israel, which has killed more than 41,000 people in Gaza and displaced hundreds of thousands, is also attacking people who have been forced to flee their homes.

The United Nations (UN) reported that Israel has hit at least 6 schools and 1 orphanage in Gaza where displaced people are staying in the last few days, and that the increasing air strikes are very worrying.

UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric gave an update on the situation in Gaza at his daily press conference. Dujarric, who relayed information he received from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on the ground, said, “We are deeply concerned about the attacks on displaced people .” Dujarric stated that Israel had hit at least six schools and one orphanage where displaced people were staying in the past few days. Dujarric reminded that the parties have an obligation to protect civilians and said that the needs of civilians must be met.

22 thousand children suffer from acute malnutrition

Dujarric said humanitarian partners were screening children in Gaza to identify malnourished children. He noted that 24,000 children were examined last month, and that 22,000 of them were found to be suffering from acute malnutrition. He said resources were insufficient to provide support.
