INGLEWOOD, Calif. – Buffalo’s overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams turned on one outstretched hand. Greg Rousseau blocked a Rams field goal attempt, and Tyler Bass kicked a 45-yarder with 1:55 left to give the Bills a 37-34 victory on Monday night, according to the Associated Press report carried by ESPN.
Rams kicker Harrison Mevis had a chance to clinch the game with a 48-yard attempt with just over four minutes left in overtime, but Rousseau got a hand on it, the Rams’ own game recap said. A pair of Josh Allen scrambles then moved Buffalo to the Rams’ 27-yard line, setting up Bass.
Allen finished with 210 passing yards, 121 rushing yards and 331 total yards, and accounted for two touchdowns. It was his first career overtime win after an 0-7 start in overtime games, Bleacher Report noted.
The Rams outscored the Bills 20-15 in the fourth quarter to force overtime but did not score in the extra period, according to the ESPN box score. Buffalo improved to 4-1, and Los Angeles fell to 2-3.
