Japanese Prime Minister Kishida says he has no intention of dissolving parliament after successful by-elections

Kyodo Agency reports that Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, in a conversation with reporters Monday after the by-election results, said he would not dissolve the country’s parliament and call a snap election. The agency clarified that the Japanese Prime Minister’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) managed to win four of the five allocated mandates.

According to Kishida, the LDP is focused on promoting each of the party’s political agendas and achieving concrete results. The Prime Minister stressed that he does not currently plan to dissolve parliament and hold general elections in Japan.
