Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Left and Greens criticize travel restrictions in Germany

Berlin – The left in the Bundestag rejects the partially imposed entry restrictions within Germany to contain the Corona crisis.

Parliamentary Managing Director Jan Korte told the editorial network Germany (Saturday) that the general contact blocks were correct. «But to raise borders at the federal states and to say that some are allowed to relax for a day by the sea from their everyday life in the apartment and others are not – that goes too far. Where should that lead? » Those who keep the minimum distance and behave responsibly should be allowed to go for a walk without having any problems with the police – whether in the forest, in the park or by the sea, said Korte.

The deputy chairman of the Greens parliamentary group, Konstantin von Notz, told the RND that uniform federal regulations are necessary. «We need a coherent and transparent overall concept. We don’t need small states. »

Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and the Prime Ministers had asked on Wednesday to generally refrain from private trips even at Easter. This also applies to “national day trips”.

The rules are strict, for example, in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Vacation rentals, for example, may only be used by their owners if they also have their main residence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Owners from other federal states are prohibited from entering and using the property.

And over the Easter holidays, day trips to seaside resorts on the coast or the Lake District were prohibited to everyone, and not just to outside parties. Entry restrictions also apply to neighboring Schleswig-Holstein, which tourists have not been allowed to enter since March 18.
