Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and the Prime Ministers had asked on Wednesday to generally refrain from private trips even at Easter. This also applies to “national day trips”.
The rules are strict, for example, in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Vacation rentals, for example, may only be used by their owners if they also have their main residence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Owners from other federal states are prohibited from entering and using the property.
And over the Easter holidays, day trips to seaside resorts on the coast or the Lake District were prohibited to everyone, and not just to outside parties. Entry restrictions also apply to neighboring Schleswig-Holstein, which tourists have not been allowed to enter since March 18.
