Karzai International Airport Kabul will remain shut down for 48 hours

Hamid Karzai International Airport Kabul, Afghanistan will remain closed for 48 hours to evacuate those already at the airport. Thousands of Afghans are currently at the airport awaiting evacuation.

Thousands of people have gathered at the airport gates, hoping to leave the country with the arrival of the Taliban . The National Herald India , with reference to the British Ministry of Defense, reported about those killed in a stampede at the airport gates. The Indian newspaper quoted Britih Minister James Heappey “Today the queue is flowing better”.

Meanwhile, the Taliban have already released 145 special forces who were being held in Herat province. On the eve of the Afghan TV channel “Tolo News” reported that some high-ranking representatives of the former authorities of Afghanistan are being held by supporters of the Taliban or disappeared despite the announcement by Amnesty.

Earlier, the US Embassy in Afghanistan recommended that American citizens avoid traveling to Kabul airport due to possible security threats. Chaos reigned in the country after the withdrawal of the American forces , the former US President Trump called this decision of Joe Biden “terrifying .”
