In the suburbs, a car knocked down two children at a pedestrian crossing. A child died

A car hit two children at a pedestrian crossing in the town of Korolev near Moscow, informed MIA media. As a result of the collision, a girl died, the boy was hospitalized.
The accident happened on the evening of February 21 near house number 14 on Chapaev Street. The Home Office reported that a 37-year-old Nissan driver rammed children born in 2010 and 2017 crossing the road. After that, the car crashed while stationary.
“As a result of the incident, a 12-year-old girl died at the scene, the boy was hospitalized with bodily injuries,” the report said.
How reported Investigative department of the Investigative Committee (CI) for the Moscow region, the children crossed the road at a pedestrian crossing. Approaching him, the driver did not slow down in advance and “emergency braking late” knocked over children crossing the road, notes the UK.
The man driving the Nissan has been arrested. A criminal case was opened against him for violation of traffic rules, which negligently caused the death of a person (part 3 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The prisoner faces five years in prison.
In October 2022, a six-year-old boy was shot dead in the yard of a house in Tatarsk, Novosibirsk region. Sergey Mamontov, who then held of deputy from the Tatar region, was driving a car that hit a miner. In the released video of the incident, he gets out of the car, approaches the child lying on the ground, stands next to him for a few seconds and drives off. Subsequently, he himself came to the police to make a confession.
Mamontov gave up his deputy and received 11 days of arrest under an administrative article for leaving the scene of an accident by the driver. He also paid compensation to the mother of the injured child in the amount of 1 million rubles. A criminal case was opened against Mamontov for leaving him in danger, but in December it was closed due to the reconciliation of the parties.
