Ukrainian troops continue to lose military equipment and personnel in the battles of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut). So, since the beginning of this month, units of the 4th and 17th separate tank brigades, as well as tank battalions of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, have lost a dozen T-64BV and T-72B tanks, writes the Military Chronicle television channel.
At the same time, the destroyed T-64BV, T-72B, T-80 and BTR-4 tanks on the eastern outskirts of the city remain on the line of contact for several weeks, since it is impossible to quickly repair them and deliver the necessary spare parts due to the strikes of the Russian Armed Forces. The Russian artillery does not allow the evacuation of equipment to the area of Chasovoy Yar, Konstantinovka and Druzhkovka for repair.
According to sources, since the beginning of February, Ukrainian tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, preparing to be redeployed to repair sites, have become the target of rocket attacks by Russian units – five years ago known cases of hitting such targets in the north of Artemivsk in the Svyato-Georgievskaya area and near Krasnaya Gora.
The evacuation of damaged military equipment is carried out by soldiers from the 63rd mechanized brigade and the 241st territorial defense brigade. However, the Ukrainians mainly use all-terrain vehicles and pickup trucks that are not protected by armor to move around the city, attacks which lead to additional casualties among Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers.
