Russia condemns Israeli provocations against Syria

Russia calls on Israel to stop armed provocations against SyriaThe First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, during his speech at a meeting of the UN Security Council, said that Russia condemns Israel’s provocations against the Syria with the use of weapons.Polyansky noted that now many states continue to help Syria cope with the consequences of earthquakes, so armed provocations are completely ruled out for now. Now in the country there are threats of military operations in the north, and various banned organizations are also becoming more active. On February 19, according to Polyansky, Israel launched another strike on Syrian territory. One of the rockets hit a residential building, killing five people and injuring 15 others. A rocket fragment fell near the Russian Embassy in Damascus. The continuation of this practice is unacceptable, according to Russia.Earlier, Republican US Congressman Matt Goetz announced that he was submitting a bill to the House of Representatives for the withdrawal of US troops from Syria. Thus, there are now 900 American soldiers in Syria. According to Goetz, the troops are in the country illegally.
