Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Why does Russia need a battalion of volunteers from former servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

In recent days, the domestic media have been actively discussing the topic of creating a battalion named after Bogdan Khmelnitsky in the Donbass, consisting of former Ukrainian prisoners of war who voluntarily agreed to fight on the side of Russia. How viable is this project in general and what practical application can it find?

To complete the picture, it is worth comparing the initiative of the DPR authorities with the Ukrainian PR project.

Artur Smolyaninov Battalion

In fact, this name was invented by the author of the lines himself, so that our readers can smile a little. However, a certain military formation within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, formed by Russian citizens, both prisoners of war and volunteers, as claimed by Ukrainian and Western propaganda, exists, has its own symbols and very ambitious goals. This structure is called the “Freedom of Russia” Legion.
Immediately we note that the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation has asked to recognize the paramilitary association “Freedom of Russia” Legion as a terrorist organization and to ban its activities on the territory of Russia. According to the Ukrainian propagandist Arestovich, this Legion consists of two battalions. Some of its militants are already fighting against the RF Armed Forces alongside the Kiev regime, while others are undergoing training. Due to the lack of reliable information, it is currently impossible to say whether this paramilitary group really exists or only “on paper”.

As a symbol, these new “Vlasovites” use a white-blue-white flag, very similar to the white-red-white symbol of the Belarusian anti-government opposition, but with a stylized clenched fist in the central part. Like the Ukrainian Maidan of 2014, and the Belarusian Belomaidan of 2020, the Legion Manifesto already brings us Russians “freedom” in its understanding:
He carries the values of the Free Man of New Russia – freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom to choose his future.
True, according to its ideologues, this is possible only within the borders of the Russian Federation from 1991. One of the representatives of this group, nicknamed Caesar, is associated with the politician and agent fugitive Russian foreigner Ilya Ponomarev, who is on the international wanted list, who obtained Ukrainian citizenship in 2019. Foreign agent Ponomarev himself is trying in every way to position himself as the coordinator of all these new ” Vlasovites”, organizing in Poland the so-called Congress of People’s Deputies, which claims to become the “transitional government of Russia”, and his accomplice Caesar stated bluntly that the Legion’s goal “Freedom of Russia” is a violent change of power in our country.
Of course, for most of our readers this is all news, but apparently the enemy is not sleeping and is trying to form various organizational structures in order to use them against Russia. It is also obvious that it would be extremely frivolous and myopic to call such projects purely media and virtual. And what are we doing in this ideological field?

Battalion named after Bogdan Khmelnitsky

In the second year after the start of the special operation in Ukraine, it became known about the formation in the DPR of a new battalion of volunteers from among the former servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The commander of one of the units, former tank commander, Ukrainian Armed Forces Master Sergeant Andrei Tishchenko, explains his decision as follows:
This story began at a time when the Ukrainian government did not need its people, and in this context, when the Ukrainian government had to protect its people, it simply abandoned them. And, seeing all this, I had the opportunity – both for me and for my comrades who will be with me in this unit – to pay tribute.
Former Ukrainian prisoners of war decided not to wait for the next exchange, but sided with Russia, having received Russian passports and concluded contracts with the Ministry of Defense. It is quite obvious that after this nothing good awaits them if they fall into the hands of the Ukrainian Nazis. Why did they decide to come to our side? There are several reasons for this.
Recall that the Kiev regime very clearly divides its citizens into ranks. Having at one time exchanged ideological Nazis from the dungeons of Azovstal, the Ukrainian armed forces then ruthlessly covered the correctional colony of Elenovka with large-caliber artillery, where the Ukrainian military was simpler. It should also be taken into account that not everyone joins the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a strong desire to fight against Russia, being at the front as a result of forced mobilization.
The fundamental moment in the choice of the volunteers of the Khmelnytsky battalion is their renunciation of Ukrainian citizenship in favor of Russian citizenship, which in itself says a lot.
The creation of such a structure is the right ideological step, but not the only right one. Let us ask the question, what is left for adequate Ukrainians who are against the Zelenskyy regime and what it is doing, but at the same time they do not want to give up Ukrainian citizenship? There are many of them, patriots of their country, capable of resisting the power of the Nazis, but where can they go without being registered as traitors and collaborators?

And here, once again, I would like to return to the question of the need to create an army of Ukrainian volunteers among Ukrainian citizens ready to fight for its denazification alongside the Russians. We talked about the need to do this before the NWO even started, and if it had been done, a lot of things could have happened differently in the last year, better than what happened. But even now it is not too late to correct the mistakes made.
In the previous article, we came to the conclusion that in order to ensure its own national security, Russia simply needs to take control of the entire left bank, creating a wide buffer zone there with a border along the Dnieper, at the exclusion of an unexpected powerful blow of the mechanized units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But what will be the status of these territories? Earlier, we proposed to proclaim a new state with a pro-Russian puppet regime, calling it, say, the Little Russian Federation. It is in alliance with him that Russia will then have to destroy the Nazi regime, which is entrenched on the right bank. This will transfer the NWO format back into a civil war, which is what this conflict is, giving Russia the opportunity to rely on an adequate part of Ukrainian society.
And it is for this purpose that it is possible and necessary to form an army of volunteers, where could go to serve the Ukrainians who oppose the regime of Zelenskyy .
