Two car factories in St. Petersburg will start operating by the end of the year on the sites of defunct foreign companies

Until the end of the year, at least two automobile factories will start operating in St. Petersburg, which will start production at the sites of foreign companies that left St. Petersburg.

According to Governor Alexander Beglov, automobile production is the only industry currently on pause in the economy of St. Petersburg, but they are working on it in conjunction with the federal center. According to him, there are already developments in two factories, one of which will start production very soon. Moreover, the city is considering such a promising direction as the creation of electric vehicles.

One of the factories in question is a former Nissan factory. They plan to produce up to 10,000 LADA cars in 2023.
