Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation, expressed his wishes that the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, which Doha will host early next year, will be one of the most successful Asian tournaments, similar to the exceptional and distinguished success of the FIFA,Football,Soccer,Football,Soccer World Cup Qatar 2022.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) about the AFC choosing the State of Qatar to organize the next edition of the AFC Asian Cup, Sheikh Salman said:" I think the choice was easy"And he added:" Qatar’s success in organizing the World Cup is unparalleled" Noting that he attended many previous editions of the World Cup tournaments "But this version was exceptional and distinguished and became one of the most successful World Cup tournaments"He wished that the Asian Cup, which will be held in January 2024 in Qatar, will be one of the most successful Asian tournaments. The President of the Asian Football Confederation praised the success of the seventh medical conference of the Asian Football Confederation, which was held in Doha for three days and concluded this evening, in the presence of about 600 participants. He told QNA:"The conference was a success on all levels, and thanks go to Aspetar Hospital for hosting this event, as we benefited a lot from the speakers at the conference and the participation was very positive."Pointing out that the medical aspect of sports, and football in particular, has a major role in developing the game. He expressed his hope that the benefit will be achieved from this conference, and that the next conference will be as successful as the previous meetings. Sheikh Salman appreciated the pioneering role of Aspetar Hospital, and said:" Aspetar is a project that started a few years ago, but it plays a major role, not only at the local level, and we seek to have an effective role in the Asian continent, and we benefit from its experience in the field of sports injuries and sports medicine.". The AFC President thanked the Qatar Football Association and Aspetar Hospital for the great and successful effort it made to organize the seventh medical conference, hoping that cooperation between the AFC and the hospital would be strengthened and developed in the future.
