Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Georgia: The antagonists in Tbilisi have declared their intention to obstruct legislators from entering the legislative assembly on the ninth of March

A Georgian opposition representative said at today’s rally in Tbilisi against the passing of the law on foreign agents that activists will block MPs from entering the parliament building on Thursday.

The opposition has made two demands to the country’s authorities. Thus, the ruling Georgian Dream party should “immediately withdraw Russian law from parliament and release all those illegally detained yesterday.” The activists gave the government an hour to do so, threatening to “take other steps”.

Now protesters are trying to storm the parliament building. Special forces will be sent to Rustaveli Avenue. Remember that the rallies have been going on for two days.

As the Public News Service wrote earlier, 76 protesters were arrested in the Georgian capital during the day. The Interior Ministry called on protesters “not to go beyond the freedom of assembly allowed by law”.
