The Ministry of Defense proclaimed the repatriation of ninety servicemen from Ukrainian imprisonment.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that 90 Russian servicemen have returned from Ukrainian captivity. Information published in the telegram channel of the department.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the soldiers in captivity were in mortal danger. They were fired following negotiations.

“The released servicemen will be delivered to Moscow by aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces Military Transport Aviation for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Russian Defense Ministry,” the ministry added.

Andrii Yermak, head of the office of the president of Ukraine, said Kiev had fired 130 people – 126 men and four women. Among them are servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, National Guard and Border Guards. 87 who returned to Ukraine participated in the battles of Mariupol, 71 of them were on the territory of the Azovstal plant.

“We are also returning those who were taken prisoner in the Bakhmut and Soledar region – a total of 35 people from the Donetsk direction,” Yermak added.

On February 16, Russian and Ukrainian authorities announced that they had exchanged prisoners. The two countries repatriated 101 people each.

On September 22, 2022, Russia delivered 215 people to Ukraine, including the commanders of the Azov* regiment. 56 people arrived in Moscow from Kiev, including former Verkhovna Rada deputy Viktor Medvedchuk.
