Today, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, received a phone call from his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the sisterly United Arab Emirates.
During the call, His Highness the Emir and His Highness the President of the UAE reviewed the brotherly relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them, in addition to discussing developments in the situation on the regional and international arenas.
During the call, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed the UAE’s support for the file of the State of Qatar’s candidacy to host the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group for the year 2026, and accordingly the UAE will withdraw its file for the meetings, wishing success to the State of Qatar in hosting this international gathering.
For his part, His Highness the Emir expressed his thanks to his brother, His Highness the President of the UAE, for his country’s support for Qatar in its candidacy to host these meetings, and for his sincere fraternal wishes – according to the Amiri Diwan website.
