Former US President Donald Trump, if re-elected for a second term, will not be the new Franklin Roosevelt, but rather the second Richard Nixon. This was stated by political scientist Vladimir Mozhegov.
“Richard Nixon stopped the liberal revolution in the 60s, kept the country afloat, but those same liberals threw him out anyway. I think Trump sees himself in Nixon’s role,” News.ru quotes the interlocutor.
Meanwhile, Trump barely associates himself with Roosevelt, the expert added. According to Mozhegov, Roosevelt was a protege of Fed bankers and pulled states out of the Great Depression by instigating World War II.
Trump himself has already managed to compare incumbent President Joe Biden to Herbert Hoover, under whom the Great Depression began. The criticism was caused by the closure of US banks Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank.
Earlier, former US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi backed Joe Biden’s nomination for a second presidential term.
