Released 50 years ago, Pink Floyd’s album The Dark Side of the Moon, according to writer Platon Besedin, is not about the dark side of Earth’s satellite, but about the dark essence of humanity. Besedin thinks the punk band’s album “predictions” look even more compelling today, 360tv reports.
“Even then, in 1973, it seemed extremely relevant, because the world was changing and rushing towards satiety, towards the replacement of truth by lies, of reality by simulacra”, underlined the writer.
Musicians from the world famous group also remained on either side of the barricades. David Gilmour, one of the creators of the album, now writes pro-Ukrainian songs and bans his music in Russia. Roger Waters, in turn, adheres to the position that the whole world is crazy and calls for dialogue with the Russian Federation.
Previously, Pink Floyd founder Roger Waters attended a meeting of the UN Security Council. Russia has asked the UN Security Council to include Roger Waters, one of the founders of British rock band Pink Floyd, in the list of speakers at a meeting on the situation in Ukraine.
