The Su-35 fighter stopped the violation of the Russian border by two US Air Force B-52H strategic bombers over the Baltic Sea, the National Defense Control Center learned.
“On March 20, the radar installations of the Air Defense Forces of the Western Military District operating over the Baltic Sea detected two air targets flying in the direction of the state border of Russia. The targets are classified as two US Air Force B-52H strategic bombers,” the agency said in a statement.
In order to identify and prevent violation of the state border of Russia, the Su-35 fighter had to be lifted into the air. Its crew quickly took over the established service area in the air. After foreign military aircraft left the territory near the borders of Russia, the fighter crew returned to the departure airfield. This was told to RIA Novosti.
It is especially worth emphasizing that the Russian fighter flew in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace. Violation of the state border of Russia was prevented.
