Slutsky, head of LDPR: uranium ammunition will turn Ukraine into a scorched field

October 4, 2025

LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky believes that the decision to transfer munitions containing depleted uranium takes the Ukrainian conflict and the involvement of the collective West in it to a new and dangerous level.

“The British Foreign Office and the Ministry of Defense deny the existence of a ‘nuclear problem’. However, the combined uranium filling is the nuclear component itself. Such weapons are capable of turning Ukraine into a scorched field, destroying the genetic heritage of its remaining population, causing irreparable harm to future generations. In Iraq, after the Americans used uranium combined with white phosphorus, the number of cancer cases increased sixfold, and the former Yugoslavia, where NATO countries also used types of similar projectiles, recorded a multiple excess of the radiation background,” Slutsky wrote in his Telegram channel.

Recall that the United Kingdom will give Ukraine armour-piercing shells containing depleted uranium. Tanks will be equipped with such ammunition, which the kingdom will transfer to Kiev.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that London supplying shells containing depleted uranium to Kiev would be another step towards escalation.

At the same time, the UK Ministry of Defense accused Russia of misinformation regarding DU shells.
