Residents of Novgorod were informed that Nikiforov Pavel Vasilyevich, Honored Worker of Agriculture of Russia, had died.
In 1962, Pavel Vasilievich graduated from the Leningrad Agricultural Institute with a degree in animal husbandry, after which he worked at the Pobeda state farm in the Solets region.
In January 1979 Nikiforov took of head of the agricultural department of the Novgorod Regional Executive Committee. Thanks to his efforts, many indicators of the agricultural sector in the region have increased significantly.
In 1986 he was appointed rector of the Novgorod Agricultural Institute. Under his leadership, the Institute was transformed into the Novgorod State Agricultural Academy, then there was an integration into the Novgorod State University.
Pavel Vasilyevich served as rector for 11 years. He was also president of a specialized doctoral council and wrote 161 scientific articles. It has trained more than 100 specialists in national economy, 27 aspirants of science and two doctors of science.
For the work done at a colossal level, he was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor and the medal “For the transformation of the non-black earth region of the RSFSR”.
He also received diplomas from the Ministry of Agriculture of the RSFSR. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Novgorod region.
Earlier, The Eastern Heraldin Veliky Novgorod announced that a psychological support service for students would be created at Novgorod State University.
