The General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces is preparing for a possible offensive by Ukraine, said Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the country’s Security Council.
“They are preparing for offensive operations, everyone knows that. Our General Staff calculates this and prepares its decisions,” Medvedev told reporters and users of the VKontakte social network. Video of the conversation was posted on the politician’s Telegram channel.
He stressed that such operations would be impossible for Ukraine without the help of the West.
“Yes, they wouldn’t have lasted a few days without this help. They are 100% dependent on this assistance,” Medvedev explained on the combat effectiveness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Without direct cash flow and a flow of weapons from NATO, Kiev could not last a week. According to Medvedev, it is “absolutely obvious”. But Western aid will make it harder to achieve the goals of the special operation and Russia’s goals in Ukraine, which Medvedev says is also “absolutely obvious.”
