Former CIA adviser Rickards did not rule out the United States sending NATO troops to Ukraine due to the defeat in Kiev

October 4, 2025

The defeat of Kiev in the conflict in Ukraine due to a serious shortage of armaments could force Western countries, in particular the United States, to openly declare to Russia that it is in direct confrontation with it. Such a scenario of development of events was allowed by former CIA adviser James Rickards, his words are quoted by the Daily Reckonin.

“Ukraine lacks artillery shells and NATO does not have a large supply of them, while Russian industry continues to regularly supply shells to the Russian army,” he said.

According to a former employee of the American intelligence agency, if the Ukrainian army loses, Washington will face a geopolitical catastrophe, as happened for America in the case of Vietnam.

Earlier on Friday, at a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Ottawa, incumbent US President Joe Biden said Western opposition to Russia does not depend on the situation in Ukraine.
