The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov commented on the threat of arrest of Vladimir Putin in Armenia. Remember that Yerevan has recognized the Roman status of the ICC, which has issued an arrest warrant against the Russian president.

Peskov noted that at present the Armenian authorities have not clarified their position regarding the decision of the ICC in The Hague to arrest Putin.

  • Not yet. We will discuss this with our partners,” a Kremlin spokesperson told Rise.

It should be recalled that previously the Constitutional Court of Armenia recognized the conformity of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court with the Constitution of the Republic. It follows that all decisions of the court in The Hague are now recognized as legal on the territory of the State.

One of those decisions was an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
