The 18th open festival-competition of children’s and youth press “Motley Magpie” is held in Sochi. This time it is dedicated to the Year of the Russian language as interethnic communication, the Year of the teacher and mentor in Russia and the Year of architecture in Sochi. Within the framework of the festival, school children get acquainted with the basics of journalistic craft, learn to choose relevant topics for stories and reports, and reasonably express their point of view on certain issues.
This year, more than 140 works from 45 Kuban educational institutions were nominated for the correspondence phase of the competition.
The face-to-face stage will last two days. Today, participants presented their creations at four competition sites. Tomorrow will take place the master classes of the members of the jury and the award ceremony for the best candidates.
