Trade turnover with the Netherlands doubled in Bashkiria

Despite the sanctions, Bashkiria’s foreign trade turnover in 2022 increased by 10.5% compared to 2021. At the same time, the volume of exports last year also increased by 10%. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Activities of the Congress of the Republic of Belarus, Margarita Bolycheva.

In the total volume of trade turnover of the republic, exports predominate. Its share is 80%. At the same time, about 66% of deliveries are non-resource and non-energy exports.

“Despite the fact that many countries have closed us opportunities for interaction, we are finding new partners,” commented the Head of the Republic of Belarus, Radiy Khabirov, at an operational meeting in the government of the region . – This is reflected in the dynamics of exchanges. We are also forming new elements of the infrastructure of our economic activity abroad. It is a very important part of the job.

According to Ms. Bolycheva, Bashkortostan has trade relations with 112 countries. The top ten states that most actively cooperate with the region are China, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Belarus, Latvia, Turkey, India, Uzbekistan, Finland and Germany.

“Compared to 2021, trade with China has increased by 20%,” said Margarita Dmitrievna. – Turnover with Kazakhstan increased by 20% and with Turkey by 50%. Trade with the Netherlands, despite the sanctions, doubled, and with Finland – five times.

Margarita Bolycheva reported that Bashkir’s trade missions successfully operate in Belarus, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and China. It is also planned to develop cooperation with Iran and the United Arab Emirates.


As the head of the Bashkir foreign trade department said, last year the number of exporters in the republic increased by a third – up to 1273 enterprises.

“Small businesses signed about 800 export contracts worth $500 million,” she explained.
