March 28, 2023

The Russian Federation’s Foreign Ministry said Moscow was disappointed with the vote in the UN Security Council to investigate the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream. “Due to the active resistance of Western delegations, the document did not obtain enough votes for its adoption. It turns out that in Western capitals they are simply afraid of an unbiased establishment of the truth. We are disappointed with the results of the vote,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a comment.

In addition, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that due to the reluctance of Western countries to allow anyone to investigate the Nord Stream gas pipeline incident, the opportunity to send a signal on the inadmissibility of such attacks was missed. .

“Russia will continue to seek the adoption of all necessary measures to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice,” the Russian Foreign Ministry added.

Previously, the United Nations Security Council failed to pass a Russian resolution to investigate the sabotage of Nord Stream pipelines. The document failed to obtain 9 of the required 15 votes. Press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin regrets the UN Security Council’s refusal of Russia’s resolution to create a commission.
