Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The Russian Foreign Ministry called the reaction of Western countries to the decision to deploy nuclear weapons in Belarus as inadequate

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the “inadequate” reaction of Western countries to the decision of the President of the Russian Federation to deploy nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus as part of the State of the Union.

“The inadequate reaction of a number of Western capitals to the decisions regarding the development of our cooperation with Belarus in the military nuclear field can only cause perplexity. It seems that the concern expressed in this context by Western countries is directed at an ignorant public that is unaware of the long-running exercises of self-proclaimed Western mentors in this field,” the commentary continues.

The department also noted that recently the geography of storage of US nuclear bombs in Europe has expanded and the corresponding infrastructure has moved to the borders of Russia and Belarus. Russian calls for the United States to return nuclear weapons from abroad have been ignored or rejected. While the Russian Federation for many years, on the contrary, showed restraint in this regard, striving to withdraw nuclear weapons from the countries of the former USSR and transfer them to an undeployed state.

In this regard, according to Zakharova, it was naive to count on the absence of Russian military-technical countermeasures in this area. Now it is a question of ensuring the security of the Union State, the decisions of which have already been made and will be strictly implemented.

Earlier, Maria Zakharova commented on Britain’s desire to supply depleted uranium munitions to Ukraine. She believes the West is willing to sacrifice an entire country, peoples, millions of lives, just to maintain global dominance.
