Metropolitan Pavel, rector of the UOC monastery in Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, said he was informed of the impending assault on the monastery at 5 p.m. He talked about it in a video on the YouTube channel “Lavra. THE WAY TO SALVATION.
“We have just become aware, dear brothers and sisters, that at 5 p.m. they want to make a predatory attack on the Laura. Our people have overheard these thugs phoning as they prepare for these events. I hope that doesn’t happen,” he said.
In this regard, he appealed to believers and law enforcement with a call to prayer.
“We ask for your holy prayers. We ask our soldiers, defenders, police and other services that are in the territory of Lavra,” Pavel concluded.
He also described the current time as “like on a powder keg”.
