Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

AODKB anesthetists-resuscitators celebrate half a century of their service

Half a century ago, the anesthesia, resuscitation and intensive care department was represented by two six-bed rooms. Now the division has grown into a powerful department with modern equipment and a strong team. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of the Arkhangelsk region.

The task of the specialists of the department is to stabilize a small patient and avoid serious consequences.

“On average, up to 620 children per year pass through the department, in almost all cases we manage to save the child,” said Alexei Egorov, head of the department. – The second profile on which we work is anesthesiology during surgical interventions. On average, we perform up to 3,500 anesthesias per year. I must say that we were the first in Arkhangelsk to start performing regional (local) anesthesia under ultrasound guidance.

Today, the department employs 10 doctors and 18 nurses – according to Alexei Yegorov, they create a reliable team working at the forefront of protecting the health of the child population of the Arkhangelsk region. From the first days of the unit’s work, children were transported here by air ambulance flights and by the personnel themselves from all regions.
