The court appointed the vicar of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel, under house arrest for two months. This was reported in RT.
The prosecutor turned to the judges with a proposal to ban the metropolitan from using social networks during the period of arrest. Thus, according to him, he will not be able to record calls to believers. In addition, the prosecutor demanded the wearing of an electronic bracelet.
Recall that Metropolitan Pavel was forcibly brought to the meeting from the hospital, where he ended up due to poor health. The cleric was charged under two articles: incitement to inter-religious hatred and “justification of armed aggression by the Russian Federation”.
Previously, the defense of the governor of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra had asked for the dismissal of the judge, who, according to them, had not complied with the request to examine the original audio files, on which part of the suspicions towards the metropolitan.
