Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

An oncologist warned of the dangers of certain shampoos

Dry shampoos containing benzene can contribute to the emergence and development of cancer and should therefore be used with caution, said a senior researcher at NNNN Blokhin’ of the Ministry of Health of Russia Igor Samoylenko.

In a comment to RIA Novosti, he pointed out that benzene, being a carcinogen, in itself, under various conditions, can cause oncology.

At the same time, benzene is very volatile and can easily enter the upper respiratory tract and lungs, causing a tumor. The same goes for the outlook for skin cancer.

Samoylenko urged to carefully study the composition of the shampoo and, if it contains benzene components, to limit its use or abandon it altogether. He recalled that certain types of dry shampoos had previously been withdrawn from circulation in the United States.

At the same time, liquid shampoos are safer, since benzene is not included in their composition, Samoylenko said.
