Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister: Russia sees the EU as a hostile association

The European Union (EU) lost Russia through its own fault, and now Moscow views the organization as a hostile association. The corresponding statement was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with Arguments and Facts.

“The European Union has ‘lost’ > Russia. But he himself is responsible for it. After all, it is the EU member states and the leadership of the union itself who openly declare the need to inflict on Russia, as they say, a strategic defeat,” the head of the department stressed. of foreign policy.

He also pointed out that Western countries continue to pump weapons into Ukraine, while supplying their instructors and mercenaries.

“For these reasons, we regard the EU as a hostile association,” Lavrov added.

According to the Minister, in the framework of the current situation, Moscow has drawn all the necessary conclusions. He noted that, if necessary, the Russian side would react harshly to a possible threat, “guided by Russia’s national interests and the generally accepted principle of reciprocity in diplomatic practice.”

Earlier, the representative of the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, announced the Secretary-General’s plans to meet the Russian Foreign Minister during his visit to the organization’s headquarters. According to him, this could happen at the end of April.
