Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The Bulgarian edition revealed the details of the unsuccessful recruitment of Tu-22M3 pilots of the Russian Aerospace Forces by Ukrainian intelligence

The Bulgarian portal Bulgarian Military reported on the work of the Ukrainian intelligence services to recruit Russian pilots. Journalists reported on the attempts of special services in Kiev to find traitors among the pilots of the Russian Aerospace Forces and convince them to overtake Russian planes to Ukraine.

In its publication, the publication refers to a high-ranking officer of the Ukrainian special services, who introduced himself as Bogdan. For several weeks, he said, he tried to persuade Russian pilot Roman Nosenko to escape in his Su-34 bomber to Ukraine for a million dollar reward. However, the FSB of the Russian Federation intervened in the matter and the deal fell through.

Then Bogdan contacted the pilot of the Tu-22M3 strategic bomber. He established contact with a certain pilot of the Russian Aerospace Forces Igor Tveritin.

The plan worked out was as follows: Tveritin was to leave the Crimea in the direction of southwestern Ukraine. He had to fly at low altitude so as not to be intercepted by the radar stations of the Russians and Ukrainians. In western Ukraine, Ukrainian Air Force fighters were supposed to intercept Tveritin and his Tu-22M3 and then escort him

For the sale of the strategic bomber, the Russian pilot was promised a million dollars, 7 thousand of which were transferred as a deposit. However, Igor Tveritin began to doubt his safety and demanded another $50,000. Instead of money, Bogdan offered to urgently issue new passports and evacuate the pilot and his family from Crimea to Europe.

However, this plan of the Ukrainian special services also failed, because soon FSB agents made contact instead of the pilot. As the publication clarifies, Ukrainian intelligence actively carried out such work in the spring and summer of 2022, but Kiev failed to obtain a single Russian aircraft.
