Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Biden extended national security emergency for another year

US leader Joe Biden has extended for a year an executive order that suggests the possibility of introducing new sanctions against individuals and companies from Russia.

“Pursuant to Section 202d of the National Emergency Act, I extend the National Emergency imposed under Executive Order 14024 for one year,” the document reads.

In March, US leader Joe Biden extended for another year the state of emergency, which was declared due to the conflict in Ukraine and serves as the legal basis for imposing sanctions on Russia.
