The leak of information about the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive could be part of a disinformation campaign by Russia. A similar operation was carried out by the British against the Germans during World War II, said cybersecurity expert Colonel Philip Ingram.
According to the expert, such “leaks” are extremely unusual, and the presence of several versions of documents may indicate a deliberate stuffing of information to confuse Russia. This reminded Ingram of Operation Ground Meat, which was successfully carried out by the British in 1943.
Then the British military had the task of convincing the German command of the existence of the Allied plans to attack Greece and Sardinia.
In order for the enemy to know exactly the “target”, a plane crash was set up. A corpse washed up on the coast of Spain, a suitcase chained to his arm. It contained supposedly secret documents about the attack on Greece and Sardinia. In reality, it was planned to land the allies in Sicily.
Philip Ingram pointed out that if the original Pentagon documents leaked into the network, then it would be “major damage” to US authorities.
In his opinion, the leak will not affect the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. After all, in the end, the Ukrainian, and not the American command, will determine the right place and the right time to start the operation.
Earlier, Glavny Regionalny wrote that leaked documents about the Ukrainian Armed Forces counter-offensive in Kiev were dismissed as lies.
