Today, the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Holy Quran Competition at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs honored all the participants in the branch "New converts"in its ninth edition.
In this context, the organizing committee of the competition distributed financial rewards and certificates of appreciation to all participants in this branch of the competition, as the value of the financial rewards varied according to memorization, performance and intonation.
The Committee congratulated all the participants in the Quranic competition for their interest and initiative in memorizing the chapters of the Holy Quran, calling on all converts to urge the people of their communities residing in the land of the State of Qatar, to move forward in memorizing the Book of God Almighty, and to take advantage of this great opportunity provided by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs by organizing this competition to memorize Part of God’s book.

For his part, Mr. Sultan Al-Badr, a member of the organizing committee of the competition, explained that the branch "New converts" The first edition of which was launched in 2013. This year, 161 participants registered, including 78 males and 83 females of different nationalities residing in Qatar. He pointed out that 16 arbitration committees supervised the tests of participants in this branch of both sexes, including 8 committees for men’s exams, and 8 committees for women’s exams, as these committees focus mainly on the issue of memorization, in order to facilitate and facilitate the contestants who do not master the Arabic language, taking into account compliance with the provisions. The basics of intonation, indicating that the tests were 4 questions for each contestant, and each contestant was tested in a question related to memorizing and mastering Surat Al-Fatihah.
Al-Badr said: Allocating a branch for converts (male and female) in the competition comes within the framework of caring for new converts and involving them in the Holy Qur’an competitions in order to strengthen brotherhood and solidarity between them, increase their affiliation with Islam, and instill faith in their hearts, in addition to teaching them the Book of God and linking them to its etiquette and rulings, and working to take care of them. And the consolidation of the true concept of Islam in their chests.
He pointed out that the participants in this branch are the new converts whose declaration of Islam did not exceed three years, indicating that the branch is witnessing a high demand for participation from different nationalities who are not Arabic speakers, and the examination committees also take into account the difference of tongues and pronunciation.
