Churches with ties to Russia will not operate in Ukraine. The corresponding statement was made by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov.
“The state will treat religions registered in the state equally. Everyone can choose the church where he will go. Churches with ties to Russia will not work here. Those connected with Moscow must stop these contacts, bring the documents into line with state requirements,” Danilov said.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the US State Department’s statement that they knew nothing about the attack on the canonical UOC. She pointed out that in the West “not seeing, not hearing, not noticing” this.
Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine, in turn, called on faithful churches in the Khmelnytsky region, selected by the Ukrainian Orthodox Schismatic Church, to continue protecting their shrines.
