The Qatari Media Center organizes a Ramadan evening on “The Ghabga between Yesterday and Today”

The Qatari Media Center of the Ministry of Culture hosted, this evening, a Ramadan Ghabka that included a group of Qatari media professionals, in addition to His Excellency Mr. Mustafa Koksu, Ambassador of the sister Republic of Turkey to the country.

The Ramadan ghabka organized by the center included a discussion session on "Ghabga between yesterday and today" It was presented by the journalist, Muhammad Al-Muhannadi, and hosted by Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Mulla, Mr. Jassim Al-Muraikhi, heritage expert Hamad Hamdan Al-Muhannadi, and Mrs. Aisha Al-Tamimi. At the outset of the session, journalist Mohammed Al-Mohannadi spoke about the ghabga as a Qatari community heritage and tradition, and the noble values ​​it represents, including maintaining family and social cohesion and communication. The speakers addressed the most prominent changes that occurred in this distinguished and inherited societal custom, and how it remained preserving many of the values ​​it bears, including increased communication, acquaintance and discussion of various issues that are usually the focus of the talk of those gathered in those sessions. The speakers also touched on the most important reasons that constituted important elements in the emergence of this societal habit, as well as the reasons why Qatari society is keen to preserve this societal habit despite the change of times and changing conditions. Mrs. Aisha Al-Tamimi talked about the change in the nature of the foods that were served during this community event and what it was in the past, and how the societal well-being was reflected in the nature of the food served today during this community event. Commenting on the Ramadan evening hosted by the Qatari Media Center, Ms. Iman Al-Kaabi, Director of the Qatar Media Center, said that this evening brought together the faces of the Qatari media and actors in its various fields, explaining that the center sought through this evening to introduce ghabga as a unique community custom in Qatari society and what It underwent changes that included several aspects, but it remained an inherited and authentic custom that the Qatari society preserved and perpetuated because of its importance in family and community cohesion, in addition to gathering Qatari media professionals in a special Ramadan evening. She noted that this Qatari custom is still very keen on the society, stressing that introducing Qatari customs to residents of the country is one of the goals that the center sought in holding this Ramadan evening that brought together the various segments of society. Al-Kaabi expressed her happiness with the distinguished and exceptional attendance of this evening, stressing that this contributes to supporting the activities of the Center and increases the effectiveness of the initiatives offered by the Center, whether during the holy month of Ramadan or at other times. It is noteworthy that the Qatari Media Center had launched, with the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan, a varied program that included many paragraphs and training workshops, in line with the nature of the holy month.
