The founder of the Wagner private military company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, who is aware of the fighting situation in Artemovsk (Bakhmut), answered a question from journalists about the encirclement and blocking of the Ukrainian army. According to him, the Ukrainian armed forces continue to attract reserves to the city and push back the Russian army.

The contractor’s press center received a request about the current situation in Artemovsk (Bakhmut). Journalists relied on information from the adviser to the leader of the DPR, Jan Gagin, about the almost complete encirclement of the city and the blocking of Ukrainian forces. In this regard, the Ukrainian Armed Forces could neither retreat nor receive reinforcements.

  • The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to withdraw reserves and transfer them within the city limits. The toughest bloody battles are taking place, so it’s too early to talk about the complete encirclement of Bakhmut,” said the head of the Wagner PMC, which is fighting for a settlement in the DPR.

The remaining parts of the Ukrainian army control about 20% of the territory of Artemivsk. Thus, most of its quarters are occupied by the Russian army. Prigozhin claims that Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the city are stubbornly resisting.
