The annual increase in the index is due to the increase in the prices of eight groups, which are the entertainment and culture group by 13.63 percent, followed by the housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels group by 8.65 percent, the clothing and shoes group by 4.90 percent, the education group by 2.61 percent, and the transportation group by 2.50 percent. , the restaurants and hotels group by 2.25 percent, the health group by 1.62 percent, and the food and beverage group by 1.06 percent.
As for the decreases, they occurred in the other goods and services group by 0.34 percent, followed by the communications group by 4.84 percent, and the furniture and home appliances group by 0.30 percent, while there was no change in the tobacco group.
With regard to the monthly change of the index compared to February 2023, the data reported an increase in five groups, most notably the clothing and footwear group by 1.56 percent, followed by the entertainment and culture group by 1.44 percent, the housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels group by 1.09 percent, and the goods and services group. Others by 0.75 percent, and the transport group by 0.53 percent.
