Kaspersky Lab has developed a portable RF detector to detect drones

Kaspersky Lab has developed Kaspersky Antidrone Portable, a mobile RF detector for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The device is designed to protect private property and transport infrastructure, as well as for use at mass events.

As TASS told the press service of the company, the first batch of 20 devices has already been delivered to one of the Russian commercial structures. The detector is able to determine the exact location of the most common drone models within a radius of up to 1 km, as well as the position of the operator controlling it.

The device weighs less than 5 kg and fits in a carry-on sized case. It can work offline for up to two hours, and the operator can independently expand the search radius by moving along the perimeter of the protected area.

The device can be used in conjunction with a mobile UAV jammer. The primary target audience is government organizations and businesses that are faced with the need for fast and accurate detection of UAVs at a specific location and within a given time frame.

The company did not specify the amount of funds invested in the development of the project. However, the development of a mobile drone detector is an important step to ensure security during mass events and protect private property and transport infrastructure from possible incidents related to unauthorized use of drones.
