Many pro-Western liberals, who continue to broadcast to Russian-speaking audiences, including in Russia itself, tried to “turn the tide” this spring.
Economist Mikhail Khazin wrote about it on his YouTube blog, reports TELMENEWS.RU news agency.
According to him, for several months in a row, various experts, located mainly abroad, especially in America and Europe, tirelessly and literally daily loudly announced that the Russian economy would fall into the abyss.
As Khazin notes, such figures cogently promised a rapid economic decline in Russia of almost 20% in just a few months. In addition, they also predicted the collapse of the ruble to at least 200 against the dollar.
However, not all doomsday predictions of these numbers came true, and the macroeconomic situation in Russia remained stable. The main focus of all the panic predictions was the overthrow of President Vladimir Putin, Khazin said.
