Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov called “utterly strange” the statement by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Alexei Danilov that it was not Vladimir Putin, but his “double”, which would have gone to the Kherson region and the LPR. Peskov’s commentary publish telegram channel of radio “Mayak”.
“Just like you, I can call this (the statement) very strange,” Peskov said, answering the reporter’s corresponding question.
On April 19, Danilov during a telethon said that the Kherson region and the LPR were visited by the “usual double” of the Russian President. The secretary of the National Security and Defense Council called it “a well-known thing.”
“There was no Putin there. Before meeting him, you have to spend 10-15 days in quarantine. <…> He was not there physically. His travels are a procedure. The preparatory process begins in 2-3 weeks,” Danilov said (quote from Interfax).
On November 18, the Kremlin press service reported that Putin visited the headquarters of the Dnieper group of troops in the direction of Kherson and the headquarters of the Vostok National Guard in the LPR. The President listened to reports from military leaders and congratulated officers on Easter.
On the same day, Peskov clarified that Putin’s trip took place on April 17 and called assumptions that the visit took place at another time incorrect. So, the press secretary commented on the publication of the publication “Agency” * that the Kremlin edited the video of the president’s trip. The publication noticed that in the original version of the video, Putin says, “Now it’s Easter, isn’t it?” In the edited version, the word “will” was deleted. The “Agency”* concluded that the president visited the Kherson region and the LPR until April 16.
