Sudanese authorities have extended the closure of the country’s airspace until April 30. This is stated in the statement from Khartoum International Airport.
“The Civil Aviation Authority has sent a Notice to Pilots (NOTAM) to extend the closure of Sudanese airspace to all air traffic until April 30,” RIA Novosti quote the message.
In Sudan, since April 15, an armed clash has pitted the country’s army against the Rapid Reaction Forces (FRR, special forces). More than 600 people have already died, the number of victims has exceeded three thousand. On Friday morning, the sides agreed to a three-day truce as part of the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr (Eid al-Fitr), which is celebrated in honor of the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. The SBR said it was ready to partially open the airports for the evacuation of foreigners from Sudan.
