Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov: the United States is responsible for not issuing visas to Russian journalists
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov called it an outrageous decision by the United States not to issue visas to Russian journalists to cover Sergei Lavrov’s work at the UN Security Council in New York.
According to Ryabkov, Moscow will respond to such actions from Washington.
“Another outrageous and absolutely unacceptable method was used by the Americans to prepare Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov’s participation in the events at the end of Russia’s presidency of the UN Security Council,” the Russian diplomat said.
According to him, the Americans “played on the nerves”, sowing the hope that visas would be issued to Russian journalists. In this regard, Ryabkov stressed that the United States “was not something that could not be trusted, it was simply not worth listening to”.
He noted that in New York there will be “big news” that needs to be covered, but because of Washington, that won’t happen. Therefore, the responsibility lies entirely with the US side, Ryabkov added.
